A well-known regional weather reporter is departing from her current station just months into her tenure, making this the fourth broadcast personality to leave since the summer.
Julia Fife, aged 31, works as a weather reporter for the local Fox station, KDFW-TV in Dallas, Texas reported on Monday that the next day would be her final day at the station.
'It has been a great privilege to collaborate with icons in this field whom I have admired for many years,' she posted on her social media account.
Thanks DFW for letting me into your houses. It has been amazing and a lifelong wish for this girl from Texas. Keep an eye out [heart emoji].
Fife's surprising declaration occurred only five months into her tenure at KDFW. In July, she shared an image from the station accompanied by the message: "A full-circle moment. DFW, I'm back." The reason for her departure remains unknown; however, the network she is employed with has experienced several layoffs as television networks and their affiliated stations reduce expenses.
Prior to beginning her profession as a weather forecaster, Fife attended the University of Texas and performed as a dancer with the Dallas Mavericks.
She additionally auditioned for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and appeared on CMT's reality series, yet she did not make the team.
Fife came back to Texas early this year following a period with another nearby Fox station in Memphis, Tennessee.
She served as a meteorologist for the station's Good Morning Memphis program for two years prior to moving back to Dallas.
Meteorologists' fans rushed to her online platforms to voice their dissatisfaction with her unexpected exit.
"Perhaps the quickest departure in FOX4 history," one message stated.
"It keeps going... shall we begin placing wagers on who will depart next?!" someone else commented.
"Let me think... The Weather Channel?" another person guessed.
"MAKES ME WONDER WHAT'S HAPPENING AT FOX 4 — Too many people are leaving or transitioning to new roles," another person said.
KDFW has seen four of its on-air hosts depart this year. Dylan Federico exited the station in July to join the Miami-based Fox affiliate, WSVN.
Fife assumed responsibility from Federico during the summer, but another weather expert, Evan Andrews, stepped down soon afterward.
Popular anchor Hanna Battah departed from KDFW to be part of ABC World News Now and Good Morning America First Look based in New York City starting in October.
Fife praised her "best friend" during the promotion, posting on Instagram: "Hanna, you're the most supportive, modest, skilled, faithful, and lovely person I know."
I'm extremely pleased with you and can't wait to witness your success in your upcoming phase.
Only a couple of weeks back, Fife shared a clip of herself viewing Battah on ABC News and commented: "Seeing your closest friend achieve her lifelong aspiration."
Even though Fife did not explain her reason for departing from the station or whether she has an upcoming role, some of her fans have suggested that she might be moving to New York with Battah.
"Ugh, everyone keeps walking out. I'm sure you're heading over to Hannah 100% Big Apple," one comment said.
"First Hanna. And you!!! Who's taking our Texas Girls!!!!" someone else commented.
The Daily Mail has contacted Fife and KDFW for their response.
